How, When, and What to Eat

Growing up, we were taught cereal, toast, fruit for breakfast. Or maybe at your house you got to eat greasy eggs, bacon, etc. Well, in order to burn fat you need carbs in your breakfast. Carbs are the fuel that your body uses to burn fat. Without them, your body starts to eat away at your muscle, so you lose weight but still have a gut, or big thighs, man boobs, etc. What I eat for breakfast is pretty simple, I make some pasta, add 4ounces of chicken, beef or fish to the pasta and an individual size package of frozen veggies. Cooking in Townecraft cookware helps, since you do not add any water to the veggies and you can't burn your food. Also, you are cooking at medium till steam rises up and then turn the stove to low heat. leave the pre cooked pasta, meat, and veggies cook for about 20 minutes and then eat. In the meantime, you get a healthy meal in the time it takes you to go to the bathroom, shower, and shave. For more information on Townecraft cookware email me at psuwildthing2003@hotmail.com

Fitness and Relationships with the Opposite Gender

I've notice that a lot of people that are overweight or suffer from things like eating disorders have a low self-esteem. Some of this is caused by unhealthy diets, while for others it is spiritual We need to focus on who we are in Christ if we are ever to defeat these harmful practices. Once we realize that we will want to take care of our bodies. Some people have questioned why I want to date someone that is healthy attractive and takes care of herself. I say this that when you are looking for a spouse you will want to find someone who is confident that they are fulfilling the design God has for them and it makes for a better all around marriage relationship, which is what we should be focused on.

And the Verdict is SLEEP

Most of us think that sleep is something we do when we are tired, and that is true. I recently learned though that sleeping at least 7 hours a night helps burn fat. Sleep is important for repairing the body and helping the body heal. Think about it; when you get sick, the first thing your doctor tells you is to get plenty of rest. The body needs rest slow down and recuperate;l otherwise you get like I feel now: knowing you need to workout, and feeling to "blah" to do it. Lucky for me today is intense cardio day and I have a Wii fit with a step program on it. Well, back to working out the kinks in my discipleship program paper then working my kinks on my rest issue and physical training.

Right after your workout

When exercising you burn sugars and calories, raising your target heartrate is key during this time frame to maximize your weight loss or gain and caloric intake. Even when gaining muscle mass, cardio is needed to maximize your benefits. One thing you need to do 30-45 minutes after your workout is eat or better yet drink something. I prefer drinking something like a smoothie and adding in whey protein, fat burning stuff, energizers etc. Especially when wanting to lose weight. One of the best products on the market is Nutraburst Superfoods blend. This one supplement that comes in a thirty day supply contains everything you need to maximize your workout benefits and to maintain health. This product contains antioxidant blend, protein blend, digestive blend, and your supergreen foods blend all in one product. Check out the product at icarter.124online.com and happy meeting goals.

Know your body

Most people when they want to lose weight or get in better shape start eating less and exercising more. The problem with this philosophy is that most people do not work out correctly, and even less eat correctly. To be serious, who wants to eat lettuce all the time? I love a good salad but I love beef too. A nice meal I created this afternoon for lunch consisted of beef sirloin nuggets; onion, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes sauteed in grapeseed oil, cooking sherry, clove, sage, basil, and marjoram layered over pasta and cabbage on the side for a delish dish that was also completely usuable by my body and nutritious. Some people when losing weight can eat chocolate, some can't. Knowing the foods that interact well with your blood type and chemical make up can go a long way to eating a healthy tasty diet. MMMMM MMMM good. So be like me and a get a Physical Trainer at a gym, if here in Charlotte I recommend the staff at Urban Active Fitness. ALso, get a good set of waterless cookware, I prefer Townecraft and will be back selling again soon. If you set up a dinner with Townecraft and have 4 married/engaged professional couples there then the company evens gives you a free gift. Nopt to mention it is a fun time to enjoy a meal with friends, and learn how to eat healthier at the same time. Hit me up to schedule a dinner part at psuwildthing2003@hotmail.com. Also for free nutritious pre-packaged gourmet meals, go to psuwildthing.sundanceglobal.com between now and OCT. 20. Thanks and enjoy getting your new fit, healthy lifestyle.

The Inevitable Weight Gain Factor

I forgot about this and ended up getting frustrated, so I wanted to talk about this today. When you are trying to LOSE weight, there will be some weeks that you will GAIN weight. Yes, that is right you are doing your 5 days a week of cardio and weight training and after a couple weeks of loss you see a slight gain in weight. Two factors that create this are water weight (80-90 percent of your liquid intake should be water by now so you might see a slight gain here since your body might be craving it); muscle mass gain (muscle weighs more than fat(. The key to knowing you are on the right fat is body fat. How do you pants fit? Or is your favorite dress starting to fit you again? DO you have more energy without the daily caffeine rush? These are all outward signs that can be signs of good progress despite the natural sense that your weight loss may be a weight gain. Happy transformations.

Help From Others

I am putting this up here to remind people that no matter what you do that YOU can NEVER be successful on your own. When you are trying to do something one your own, YOU WILL inevitably fail. Every single person who has had some kind of success in their life had someone that helped them out, even if the only someone that helped them was God, Jesus, or the Holy Ghost. Face it we need help to survive and make it, and anyone that thinks otherwise will be alone, fat, lazy and without enjoying thier life. Also, we need to help other people to succeed, the circle is a vicious one and goes against the cutthroat look out for number one mentality that has been drilled into our society. When we stop looking out for number one and start looking out for other, we inevitably feel better and when we feel better, we are more productive, more motivated, and people want to be around us more. So get help when you need it and give help to those who are less fortunate than you and the world you live in becomes a better place. People who live in better places have less stress, which equals less cortizon and eventually the poundage comes off more easily.

Finally broke it......

I finally broke the 2 pound a week mark. Or rather the Holy Ghost gave me the strength to get down there. See, once God showed me that my problem was psychological, and that psychology deals with the soul not the mind. I knew than what I had to do. I grew in an environment that wasn't anti-God but it was anti-Christian or more to the point anti-Relational. Now what does this have to do with weightloss, EVERYTHING. See, God places or allows us to struggle with things as we mature in faith and get stronger. I discovered this week the true power to successfully rid yourself of any traces of demonic activity and that is prayer.
I incorporated prayer into my study life, and into my weightloss routine and within two days I lost a whopping 8 lbs. Now, you can say it was the elimination of sodas, not eating crap foods, the heavy workouts etc etc. I know though that it is through Christ that I (can beat) all things, and through the power of prayer, God gave me the strength to move forward on my weight loss program. So if you are overweight, and not hitting the success you want, look at your prayer life. You may just need God to rescue you from a sin or two, and then things start to flow naturally again. Oh and I can finally button my dress pants, now to go job hunting;)

Proper Hydration

I equate proper hydration for the human body to proper inflation of a car tire. Have you ever driven on underinflated tires? Well, if you have then you would know that by not having the proper air pressure the tire slags, slowing the car down, and causing you to burn more fuel. When dehydrated, your body shuts down. WHat this means is that your normal bodily functions that promote digestive health, and getting rid of toxins starts to become lax. The result is you get fatter and more sluggish and downright almost lethargic. The cure drink plenty of just plain water. A gallon to a gallon of half a day should do; unless of course you are working out or active then drink more. Replacing your fluids with soda, Gatorade, kool aid and the like in time can cause your body to not just slow down but these empty calorie products also helps one to absorbs too many calories. A soda a day can add up to a pound of fat in a month.....

August 31.

First a shout out to my kid sister turning 18 and an adult today. Thank you Kelley for being a great sister!!!!
Now on to the wonderful world of dieting. Living healthy and from the burden of being fat requires choices. Choices to go to bed earlier, so you can get up and head to the gym in the morning. Choices to choose a chicken sandwich instead of a big mac. And choices to choose a better life. Too often we let food and lethargicness control us and then we blame others. Take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself is that what you like is that what you want others to see you as. Truth is that even people that want to go for personality like looks and looks are important. If someone is overweight, then they can be needy, lazy, low self esteem etc. Now obvious there are exceptions to the rule, but those exceptions are doing something about it. Tomorrow I start my gym membership, and with 4 months and 90 lbs to go; the membership started at a perfect time to catalyst me into good health. Also, a friend of mine's health store is starting a contest soon details to follow. And once we get some more registered guests I may be eligible for corporate sponsors. So see you at the gym and here's to slimmer hotter people.

The CHRISTIAN Diet

Now I know that after this blog I may not get invited to many parties and my parties may go downhill as far as attendance, but this really bothers me.
Why is it that at every party you go to thrown by Christians that the main ingredients are pizza, chips, and sodas. IE Carbs that turn to sugar, carbs that turn to sugar and sugar laden with toxic chemicals. Before my I started this program I worked in the pizza industry and all you see is people in the industry either blowing up like ticks or not eating the product. . .AT ALL or seldom. As Christians we are supposed to be honoring the temple of the Holy Spirit not tearing it down. I see now why Christians in today's society have to renew their minds. They have to start everything over at day one and that includes their diet. You wouldn't put gas that was mixed with water in your gas tank, but you will put sugary foods that make you sluggish, sick, and downright unable to perform at your best into your body.
Worse yet we feed it to the kids. We give them a diet of SpongeBob, or whatever cute little cartoon critter we can find to keep them quiet. Then on top of that we feed them sugar coated cereals, chicken patties that are loaded with garbage, french fries, sugar loaded ketchup, or worse yet Ranch dressing to coat the foods with. I'm telling you straght up if you steam cook your veggies, NOT boil them. Serve freash fruits, juice, milk and water to your kids. They will eat them. God made fruits and veggies with color for a reason. This tells our bodies it is living and healty, not dead and dismal. It should be criminal to feed kids things like PB and J, grilled cheese, pizza, lunchmeat, and other sodium rich sugary fatty foods on a regular. That is child abuse in the truest form and why when they get older like me, they blow up like disgusting ticks, and die from deseases like diabetes, heart failure, alzheimers, parkinsons, etc etc and the list goes on.

Day ????? Proper rest

Proper rest is important on a diet, especially since most of you are changing your eating habits and eliminating man made chemicals from your diet. After about a few days to the end of the 2nd week, it is important to get adequate sleep and to take "happy" naps to keep from being moody and miserable. Failure to do though, could cause a rebound effect and overeating or binge eating like what happened to me today is the result. Well, off to bed to get a good night's rest later.

Day 7 --Portion Control

Everybody is so into calorie content. What I would like to talk about today is potion control. Here goes eat all the green leafy veggies you want. As a matter of fact, unless its starchy like peas, corn, and potatoes you are good here. Second is to eat 6 small meals a day at 2 hour increments. A small meal is 1 serving carb be it two slices of bread, crackers, a piece or serving of fruit; 1 serving of protein basically whatever fits in the palm of your hand is a serving, if you are still hungry salsds, brocolli(pref raw), cauliflower, onion, green peppers are just a few of teh veggioes that will help you and are nutritious. Remember to take that one day off each week to keep your body from starvation and to have fun and eat what you enjoy just less of it.

Day 5---- Generational Shift

Here is a hard pill to swallow. Are you fat, overweight, got health problems? Do you see signs of these same problems in your family's heritage? Maybe you are big boned, most likely not? Maybe you have bad genes that are prone to illnesses? That is unlikely too. According to leading authors like Kevin Trudeau and Dr. Colbert, there is a good chance that you learned to cook from your parents or grandparents, and they learned their cooking skills from. . .that's right your great great mama, great great great nana, and your great great great grandmother etc etc.
In order to stop this trend and prevent sickness and illness to your family, you will need to change your families food prep habits. Go to your cabinet right now and throw out all the white sugar, crisco, and hydrogenated veggie oil that is making your family FAT, OVERWEIGHT, AND UNHEALTHY. Replace with honey, REAL maple syrup (Not Log Cabin or Aunt Jemima) and Olive, grape seed, and safflower oils. You might pay a little more now, but you body and you pocket will thank you in the future. Also, find some waterless cookware. I prefer Townecraft myself and prep your veggies without boiling all the nurtrients out of them. Also, throw out the microwave, every second your veggies are in there they are be depleted of healthy vitamins and minerals. There is a reason Amish people are healthy.
Also, for babies I recommend steaming your fruits and veggies and pureeing them. Like the nursing homes do for Senior citizens that cannot eat real food. Make sure you remove the seeds so baby doesn't choke. Also, keep in mind that canned baby food is loaded in sugar, and you do not want baby being addicted to sugar at an early age. Kids under 18 should be made to eat raw or steamed veggies at lunch and dinner. Fruit is great in the morning with your eggs and bacon. Cereal is ok but make sure it is portioned out according to the box and that the cereal is not sugar laden.

Remember only you can help train your kids against diabetes and fatness...only you!!!!

Day 4---- When it sets in

It has been over a week now with no SODAS. My headache is starting to really bother me and my skin feels warm all over. This is NORMAL. When you start making changes to your diet, you will start to feel sick, lethargic, and downright moody. Please do not take DRUGS to deal with the symptoms; they are God's way of telling you that you need to change your diet. Lots of fresh fruits, raw/steamed veggies, and water will help these feelings to subside without turning off your bodies defense systems. Aspirin, tylenol, and other drugs will just stop the symptoms, but if you do not change your habits, the symptoms come back. Now is a good time to get plenty of rest so your body can start healing, work out, continue to eat healthy, and start hanging out around more positive people.

IE, I went to Subway today and had some tea half and half, Sun Chips, and a Chicken Salad sub--raisins, apples, chicken, light mayo, swiss cheese, flat bread and banana peppers. It was deliciious and light for the stomach. John is a positive uplifting friend that is great at being there for support.

Also, tip from a blogguest --Music and dancing while doing chores burns off extra calories and is fun. Not to mention entertaining for the kids.

Day 3

Well, I see I am getting some loyal followers. So today I am going to share a great recipe for success.

Ian's Healthy Salad
mixed greens (Do not use just iceberg, no/limited nutritional value)
chopped onion (I prefer red)1 or 2 slices
6-9 croutons
cran raisins
1 carrot
half a tomato
one or 2 slices of green pepper diced
add meat
I've use so far scallops, chicken, and hard boiled eggs
add some freshly ground pepper and sea salt
drizzle with raspberry walnut vinagrette
ENJOY>

Also, do not eat the same meals everyday mix it up so your brain doesnt feel like it is starving.

Calorie counting is good, but with a good workout and mixing up the meals and keeping variety will be where the money is at.
Thank you for all your support.

Ian's Weightloss HQ: Hi

A little more about me. I finally decided to lose weight when I saw that the outdoors center would not let me zip line due to my obese nature. Also,a lot of the roller coasters at amusement parks are now "weight" controlled due to the design of the locking mechanisms. It is sad that when my friends go rock climbing that my weight slows me down, so I have to "opt" out. I'm sick and tired of not being the best person that I can be for myself and for my Lord and Savior. I feel like I am telling God that I do not appreciate this life he gave me by being overweight and out of shape and now I am doing something about it.
