First a shout out to my kid sister turning 18 and an adult today. Thank you Kelley for being a great sister!!!!
Now on to the wonderful world of dieting. Living healthy and from the burden of being fat requires choices. Choices to go to bed earlier, so you can get up and head to the gym in the morning. Choices to choose a chicken sandwich instead of a big mac. And choices to choose a better life. Too often we let food and lethargicness control us and then we blame others. Take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself is that what you like is that what you want others to see you as. Truth is that even people that want to go for personality like looks and looks are important. If someone is overweight, then they can be needy, lazy, low self esteem etc. Now obvious there are exceptions to the rule, but those exceptions are doing something about it. Tomorrow I start my gym membership, and with 4 months and 90 lbs to go; the membership started at a perfect time to catalyst me into good health. Also, a friend of mine's health store is starting a contest soon details to follow. And once we get some more registered guests I may be eligible for corporate sponsors. So see you at the gym and here's to slimmer hotter people.

The CHRISTIAN Diet
Now I know that after this blog I may not get invited to many parties and my parties may go downhill as far as attendance, but this really bothers me.
Why is it that at every party you go to thrown by Christians that the main ingredients are pizza, chips, and sodas. IE Carbs that turn to sugar, carbs that turn to sugar and sugar laden with toxic chemicals. Before my I started this program I worked in the pizza industry and all you see is people in the industry either blowing up like ticks or not eating the product. . .AT ALL or seldom. As Christians we are supposed to be honoring the temple of the Holy Spirit not tearing it down. I see now why Christians in today's society have to renew their minds. They have to start everything over at day one and that includes their diet. You wouldn't put gas that was mixed with water in your gas tank, but you will put sugary foods that make you sluggish, sick, and downright unable to perform at your best into your body.
Worse yet we feed it to the kids. We give them a diet of SpongeBob, or whatever cute little cartoon critter we can find to keep them quiet. Then on top of that we feed them sugar coated cereals, chicken patties that are loaded with garbage, french fries, sugar loaded ketchup, or worse yet Ranch dressing to coat the foods with. I'm telling you straght up if you steam cook your veggies, NOT boil them. Serve freash fruits, juice, milk and water to your kids. They will eat them. God made fruits and veggies with color for a reason. This tells our bodies it is living and healty, not dead and dismal. It should be criminal to feed kids things like PB and J, grilled cheese, pizza, lunchmeat, and other sodium rich sugary fatty foods on a regular. That is child abuse in the truest form and why when they get older like me, they blow up like disgusting ticks, and die from deseases like diabetes, heart failure, alzheimers, parkinsons, etc etc and the list goes on.

Day ????? Proper rest
Proper rest is important on a diet, especially since most of you are changing your eating habits and eliminating man made chemicals from your diet. After about a few days to the end of the 2nd week, it is important to get adequate sleep and to take "happy" naps to keep from being moody and miserable. Failure to do though, could cause a rebound effect and overeating or binge eating like what happened to me today is the result. Well, off to bed to get a good night's rest later.

Day 7 --Portion Control
Everybody is so into calorie content. What I would like to talk about today is potion control. Here goes eat all the green leafy veggies you want. As a matter of fact, unless its starchy like peas, corn, and potatoes you are good here. Second is to eat 6 small meals a day at 2 hour increments. A small meal is 1 serving carb be it two slices of bread, crackers, a piece or serving of fruit; 1 serving of protein basically whatever fits in the palm of your hand is a serving, if you are still hungry salsds, brocolli(pref raw), cauliflower, onion, green peppers are just a few of teh veggioes that will help you and are nutritious. Remember to take that one day off each week to keep your body from starvation and to have fun and eat what you enjoy just less of it.

Day 5---- Generational Shift
Here is a hard pill to swallow. Are you fat, overweight, got health problems? Do you see signs of these same problems in your family's heritage? Maybe you are big boned, most likely not? Maybe you have bad genes that are prone to illnesses? That is unlikely too. According to leading authors like Kevin Trudeau and Dr. Colbert, there is a good chance that you learned to cook from your parents or grandparents, and they learned their cooking skills from. . .that's right your great great mama, great great great nana, and your great great great grandmother etc etc.
In order to stop this trend and prevent sickness and illness to your family, you will need to change your families food prep habits. Go to your cabinet right now and throw out all the white sugar, crisco, and hydrogenated veggie oil that is making your family FAT, OVERWEIGHT, AND UNHEALTHY. Replace with honey, REAL maple syrup (Not Log Cabin or Aunt Jemima) and Olive, grape seed, and safflower oils. You might pay a little more now, but you body and you pocket will thank you in the future. Also, find some waterless cookware. I prefer Townecraft myself and prep your veggies without boiling all the nurtrients out of them. Also, throw out the microwave, every second your veggies are in there they are be depleted of healthy vitamins and minerals. There is a reason Amish people are healthy.
Also, for babies I recommend steaming your fruits and veggies and pureeing them. Like the nursing homes do for Senior citizens that cannot eat real food. Make sure you remove the seeds so baby doesn't choke. Also, keep in mind that canned baby food is loaded in sugar, and you do not want baby being addicted to sugar at an early age. Kids under 18 should be made to eat raw or steamed veggies at lunch and dinner. Fruit is great in the morning with your eggs and bacon. Cereal is ok but make sure it is portioned out according to the box and that the cereal is not sugar laden.
Remember only you can help train your kids against diabetes and fatness...only you!!!!

Day 4---- When it sets in
It has been over a week now with no SODAS. My headache is starting to really bother me and my skin feels warm all over. This is NORMAL. When you start making changes to your diet, you will start to feel sick, lethargic, and downright moody. Please do not take DRUGS to deal with the symptoms; they are God's way of telling you that you need to change your diet. Lots of fresh fruits, raw/steamed veggies, and water will help these feelings to subside without turning off your bodies defense systems. Aspirin, tylenol, and other drugs will just stop the symptoms, but if you do not change your habits, the symptoms come back. Now is a good time to get plenty of rest so your body can start healing, work out, continue to eat healthy, and start hanging out around more positive people.
IE, I went to Subway today and had some tea half and half, Sun Chips, and a Chicken Salad sub--raisins, apples, chicken, light mayo, swiss cheese, flat bread and banana peppers. It was deliciious and light for the stomach. John is a positive uplifting friend that is great at being there for support.
Also, tip from a blogguest --Music and dancing while doing chores burns off extra calories and is fun. Not to mention entertaining for the kids.

Day 3
Well, I see I am getting some loyal followers. So today I am going to share a great recipe for success.
Ian's Healthy Salad
mixed greens (Do not use just iceberg, no/limited nutritional value)
chopped onion (I prefer red)1 or 2 slices
6-9 croutons
cran raisins
1 carrot
half a tomato
one or 2 slices of green pepper diced
add meat
I've use so far scallops, chicken, and hard boiled eggs
add some freshly ground pepper and sea salt
drizzle with raspberry walnut vinagrette
ENJOY>
Also, do not eat the same meals everyday mix it up so your brain doesnt feel like it is starving.
Calorie counting is good, but with a good workout and mixing up the meals and keeping variety will be where the money is at.
Thank you for all your support.

Ian's Weightloss HQ: Hi
A little more about me. I finally decided to lose weight when I saw that the outdoors center would not let me zip line due to my obese nature. Also,a lot of the roller coasters at amusement parks are now "weight" controlled due to the design of the locking mechanisms. It is sad that when my friends go rock climbing that my weight slows me down, so I have to "opt" out. I'm sick and tired of not being the best person that I can be for myself and for my Lord and Savior. I feel like I am telling God that I do not appreciate this life he gave me by being overweight and out of shape and now I am doing something about it.
